Discussion about Bill Evans - The 1972 Ljubljana Concert
Timberahue
This is the only recording in which Bill Evans Trio have Tony Oxley on drums. Their performance as such is fine, especially Eddie Gomez, his performance is outstanding among the three. Apart from his playing, the improvising part on Waltz for Debby is also worth a listen. However, I have to say that its sound quality is still not desirable compared with other live recordings of Bill Evans Trio’s. Bill Evans was half-killed by the poor recording, literally. If anyone is seriously interested in this live recording, this CD is definitely the best choice up to now. It’s obvious that it sounds better than the another CD version of the same live recording released by Balcan Records few years ago. I have the both, so I know that.
