Miguel Migs at perhaps his deepest, on his UNDERWATER SESSIONS EP. The bits of jazz and soul melodies that flow through "The Remedy (Mix 1)" appear and disappear like wave glints without giving up the energy ("Mix 2" is much more dubbed out but still deep, while "Downtown Remedy" hits the hip-hop). "Dubpusher" tosses in some more Latin percussion, but the dubbiness persists, and a jazz piano sprinkles itself over the starker beats of "Cuban Nights." And, not surprisingly, "Dubpusher (Stripped Down Edit)" really is all about the dub: reverb effects and ragga toasting -- and then the beats kick in. Nifty package.
