As noted, this is the original MCA CD issue of this album. While the MCA CDs of Elton's catalog sound great for the most part (and generally are identical to their UK DJM counterparts), this one is the exception to that rule. Tracks 1-4 (which made up the first side of the LP) sound okay, but the quality takes a dive on the following tracks with a drastic treble cut and the sound growing muffled.Perhaps due to complaints, MCA would press a corrected version within months. The corrected version is known as the 'blue face' disc because the CD's print side has a blue tint to it.According to lukpac on the Steve Hoffman forums, this CD utilizes side one of the mix that appears on the US UNI LP and the second side of the UK DJM mix. The corrected version utilizes the UK mix in its entirety. Both the original and corrected CDs have swapped channels when compared to the LPs, however.
