Miss Djax - Gunslinger download free

The legendary heroine of acid & hard techno does it yet again with Gunslinger. I had my doubts after listening to the "Inferno" album, but my hopes have been restored with this one.The A side brings the nuke attack on the dance floors, with a harder than the barrel of your sawed-off shotgun hard techno storm, which samples the "Man with the harmonica" theme from the Once Upon A Time In The West soundtrack composed by Ennio Morricone. After the sample, there's a gun shot fired, and then ensues a three minute percussion avalanche along the lines of Felix Krocher's High Pressure or something. Bottom line: it lays the rabies down with the intensity of Captain Planet on steroids. Wicked!The B side is a techno acid core fury, which features heavily distorted DJ Rush vocals halfway deep, and then a massive unload of unhinged 303s for full three minutes. As pounding as they come, think of that old Pete Skank banger (I can't remember the name for the love of God), but with more power from the bass department. Totally crazy club orientated cut, which combines the rough, exaggerated tempo of modern hard techno with a unique, driving, very old schoolish acid intrusion.Overall, not the most strikingly original 12" out there, but what does strike me is the no-nonsense ferocity and a skilled inclusion of rather odd elements in state of the present hard techno sound. Being a fan of both the movie and its music, the A side gets at me since it draws inspiration from an all time favorite, while Acid Bomb harks back to the good old 'drop acid not bombs' rhetoric. Oh yeah, and as with 9/10 Djax covers, this one is ace, looks great up on my shelf.
